D’Arcy Johnson Day Sponsors Crossfit Workouts For Atlantic County S.W.A.T. Teams
On Tuesday, December 7, at 9:00 a.m., 20 of the S.W.A.T. officers will take part in the first of the D’Arcy Johnson Day-sponsored CrossFit training sessions at CrossFit OTG, located at 3330 Bargaintown Road in Egg Harbor Township.
“Each of the partners in the firm does CrossFit training, so we knew first-hand how beneficial the program would be for law enforcement officers. We also realized that in this economic climate, budgets most likely would not allow for this type of training,” said Christopher Day, a partner at D’Arcy Johnson Day. “When we learned that the S.W.A.T. team had an interest in CrossFit training, we saw it as a great opportunity for D’Arcy Johnson Day to help the S.W.A.T. team members maintain the high level of fitness they need to do their jobs effectively, without impacting the organization’s budget.”
A core strength and conditioning program, CrossFit is designed to maximize physical competence in ten fitness domains: cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. “CrossFit’s comprehensive approach and challenging workouts make it a natural choice for law enforcement officers, firefighters, members of the military, and anyone else whose work requires extreme physical prowess, but the program is really beneficial for people of all ages and fitness levels,” explained Mark Saber, Owner and Coach at CrossFit OTG. “We have elite athletes working out next to soccer moms and grandparents. Now, with the help of D’Arcy Johnson Day, they’ll be joined by S.W.A.T. team members, and they’ll all have the chance to forge elite fitness.”
