D’Arcy Johnson Day Supporting the End Distracted Driving Campaign

April 2012 is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and D’Arcy Johnson Day is proud to support The Casey Feldman Memorial Foundation and its End Distracted Driving Campaign. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that honors Casey Feldman, a 21-year old college student at Fordham University who died in 2009 after being hit as a pedestrian by a distracted driver.

The problem of distracted driving is significant and the statistics are disturbing:
  • Distracted driving accounts for more than 5,000 deaths each year.
  • At any given time during the day, nearly 800,000 drivers are using their cell phones while on the road.
  • Texting while driving makes a driver 23 times more likely to have a crash or near crash event.
Please take a few minutes to visit the End Distracted Driving Campaign and learn more about this program and help make our roads safer by talking to your family, friends, and especially your children about this important issue.

For more information, please contact D’Arcy Johnson Day at 609.641.6200 or through this web site.
