D'Arcy to Lear Atlantic Country Lawyers
Patrick T. D’Arcy, who heads the D’Arcy Law Firm located in Galloway, NJ, was installed as the President of the Atlantic County Bar Association at a dinner held at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino on June 11, 2005. In this position, he is at the helm of an organization made up of over 500 Atlantic County lawyers. He will also continue to manage his litigation law firm, where he practices in the areas of serious personal injury, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse.
Mr. D’Arcy, who has been practicing law in Atlantic County for over 17 years, is looking forward to this opportunity. “Despite the perception of some in the public, many lawyers do a great deal of good for the communities in which they work. I believe this to be especially true for the lawyers of Atlantic County and I am ready to make sure this continues to be the case,” D’Arcy stated. The Bar Association organizes numerous projects and benefits for the residents of Atlantic County each year, especially for children. Recent programs have included their Holiday party for underprivileged children, a blood drive, scholarships for prospective and current local law students, a high school mock trial program, as well as raising money for the recent Tsunami tragedy.
One of the highly publicized cases Patrick tried before a jury involved a claim by a former professional hockey player against the Philadelphia Flyers and their team physician. The jury found that the team physician deviated from accepted standards of care and awarded $1.37 million to the player. This was considered a ground-breaking precedent in the world of professional sports and is now commonly referenced in player negotiations.
Patrick lives in Galloway with his wife Pamela and two children, Nicolette and Patrick. He coaches several area youth teams and holds a third degree Black Belt in the Korean Martial Art of Tang Soo Do.
