The Law Firm of D’Arcy Johnson Day is off to a fast start in 2014 for its clients by bringing in over $ 2 million in settlements. DJD Partners Bruno Bellucci, III and Steven K. Johnson have recently settled a series of cases on very favorable terms for their clients against insurance companies that were previously unwilling to even consider paying our clients anything.

A brief summary of the recent victories:

• A $950,000.00 settlement for Bruno Bellucci’s client that was seriously injured after a bucket on a multi-ton construction excavator smashed into our client resulting in injuries to his ribs, right leg, and back. Shockingly, not only did the insurance company claim the policy did not cover the injuries, but went a step further and claimed our client was somehow at fault for his own injuries.  The settlement amount proves otherwise.
• A $550,000.00 settlement for Steve Johnson’s client that required a total hip replacement following a fall from a residential construction site where no handrails were protecting workers and visitors on an exterior stairway.
• A $400,000.00 settlement for Steve Johnson’s client that was struck by a police vehicle driving in the wrong lane of traffic without any sirens activated to warn other drivers on the road. Our client suffered traumatic herniations and spinal cord impingement requiring an emergency two level cervical fusion surgery with instrumentation placed in the client’s body.
• A $250,000.00 settlement for Steve Johnson’s client that sustained a comminuted tibial plateau fracture requiring surgery and an eventual knee replacement procedure following a fall on black ice in a parking lot.
