Borgata Dealt a Blow in Court: Another Win for Casino Dealers and UAW
Casino dealers and the UAW continued their winning ways in challenging Atlantic City casinos in court for work-related injuries.
Recently, DJD workers’ compensation attorney, Christopher Day, was successful in relating a dealer’s chronic back problems to his repetitive job activities as a casino dealer at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
The Court ruled that the repetitive daily job activities as a casino dealer caused his low back problems. As a result, the dealer will be paid for all of his lost time and 100% of his medical bills will be paid. The dealer will not pay one dime for his medical care. In addition, the dealer will be entitled to a substantial settlement and will have two years from the date the dealer receives that settlement to return in the future if he needs any additional medical care for his back.
