DJD Proud to Support Golf Outing in Memory of Al Welenc
On October 1, 2012, D’Arcy Johnson Day is proud to be a corporate sponsor of a charity golf outing being held in honor of Al Welenc, former President of UAW, Local 8888. In addition to being a great friend to many, Al was instrumental in organizing casino dealers at the Tropicana on behalf of UAW.
Casino Workers United (CWU), a non-profit organization, with the support of UAW Region 9, is hosting the 1st Annual Scott Adams Golf Outing, which will be held at the Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey on October 1st.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the CWU, an organization that was established to assist local Atlantic City casino workers and their families in times of need. The CWU and UAW Region 9 members will honor Al, who passed away August 20th, after a valiant fight against cancer.
The event registration fee includes lunch, steak dinner, green fees, and a golf cart. In addition to sponsorship opportunities, there will be putting, long drive, closest to the pin, and hole-in-one contests.
