DJD Client Awarded Six Million Dollar Judgment Following Brutal Attack
A client of D’Arcy Johnson Day that was left with a serious and permanent head injury following a brutal attack outside a Cape May County bar, has received some measure of justice. DJD Partner, Richard Albuquerque, recently obtained a six million dollar judgment for the client after DJD investigators uncovered that the bar in question had a long history of violence.
Despite repeated incidents at the location, the bar failed to implement security measures to protect its customers from the violent acts of other patrons. The Judge overseeing the case agreed, and found the bar to be one-third responsible, and the attacker to be two-thirds responsible for the injuries sustained by Richard’s client.
“No amount of money can adequately compensate a person that has been attacked in this fashion, and left unable to work. But hopefully this judgment sends a strong message to both violent individuals and the bars that tolerate them: it won’t just be the police coming after you when someone is viciously attacked,” said Richard.
