As part of its ongoing outreach in the community, D’Arcy Johnson Day sponsors a group of runners from a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Best Foot Forward Running Club, to participate and compete in various races in the region.

Recently on July 21, 2012, 14 runners from the group, dubbed “Run DJD”, participated in the Mid-Atlantic Police & Fire Survivors 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk in North Wildwood, New Jersey.  Proceeds from the race benefit the Mid-Atlantic Police & Fire Survivors Weekend which recognizes the survivors of fallen law enforcement officers and firefighters from the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
